    Kumbhalgarh Fort – Rajasthan

    Kumbhalgarh..an unconquerable fort of Rajasthan! Birthplace of Maharana Pratap, this is the second most important fort after Chittorgarh!

    Built in 15th century by Maharana Kumbha and named after him, the mighty fort of Kumbhalgarh is still standing tall with the pride. Placed among the mountain range of Aravali, a zigzag road takes you to the this amazing marvel through hilly road among the forest. The fort is one of the most visited World Heritage Site in India. The fortifications extends to almost 36 kms making it the second longest wall after the Great Wall of China! Very few know this fact in India.

    Coming through Arait Pol (the fort gate), you enter the main fort campus through Hanuman Pol. Once you parked your vehicle and got the ticket, you can enter through mighty and beautiful Ram Pol. Even before entering into the fort, one spend good time outside admiring the giant wall and the fortifications.

    While enjoying the great view of Aravali range and Mewar region, one can see number of temples, gardens and structures within the fort wall. Vedi temple, Neelkanth Mahadev temple and Golesh Jain temple are prominent temples along with the Golerao Group of Temples within the fort.

    The best part of the fort is Badal Mahal (palace of clouds) which is placed on the highest peak and act as a crown of the fort. One can feeling of wandering into the clouds along with the panoramic view of Mewar.

    The fort is well connected with Udaipur and do also have many options to live around. Light and sound show at the night became popular attraction of the place and one should not miss the same.
